When purchasing a truck like the Ford F-150, there are a lot of things to consider. What kind of power it generates, how much can it tow, and what special features does it contain, are all popular questions we get asked at the lot daily. However, one inquiry tops the charts: What does the Ford F-150 gas mileage look like?

At Fred Beans Ford of West Chester, we're happy to answer that question for all our truck drivers in the West Chester, Glen Mills, and Malvern area. Below, you'll find the MPG for all six Ford F-150 engine options and each of its configurations. That way, you can make an educated decision on which one is right for you! Let's get started.

3.3L Ti-VCT V6

The first engine in the F-150 lineup is the 3.3L V6. This standard powertrain packs a lot of punch, supplying up to 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. Plus, this engine can either be equipped with the base 4x2 system or available 4x4.

When standardly configured with 4x2, this engine brings in an estimated fuel economy of 19 city/25 highway/22 combined MPG. However, with the addition of the 4x4 system, it drops slightly due to the extra work. Though still impressive, the 4x4 fuel gas mileage comes in at 18 city/23 highway/20 combined MPG.

2.7L EcoBoost® V6

The next engine is the 2.7L V6 with EcoBoost® technology. With this Ford F-150 powertrain, you'll see a jump in numbers due to the advanced engine that focuses on saving fuel in every way possible. It boasts 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, as well as a heightened fuel economy across the board.

Like the first engine, it can be matched with 4x2 and 4x4 systems, however, a Payload Package is available. This heightens the amount of weight you can carry and also offers a varying fuel economy. Take a look at the estimated efficiency below.

  • 4x2: 20 city/26 highway/22 combined MPG
  • 4x2 with Payload Package: 19 city/25 highway/21 combined MPG
  • 4x4: 19 city/24 highway/21 combined MPG
  • 4x4 with Payload Package: 18 city/24 highway/21 combined MPG

5.0L Ti-VCT V8

When your 2019 Ford F-150 is paired with the 5.0L V8 engine, you'll have even more strength under the hood with 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. It also has the same configurations as the previous model, but quite a different gas mileage. Let's take a closer look at the numbers:

  • 4x2: 17 city/23 highway/19 combined MPG
  • 4x2 with Payload Package: 16 city/20 highway/19 combined MPG
  • 4x4: 16 city/22 highway/18 combined MPG
  • 4x4 with Payload Package: 15 city/19 highway/17 combined MPG

3.5L EcoBoost® V6

The EcoBoost® is back in the 3.5L V6 powertrain, the next one in the expansive Ford F-150 roster. This supplies an impressive 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and can be paired with 4x2, 4x4, and the Payload Package. Which arrangement is right for you?

  • 4x2: 18 city/25 highway/21 combined MPG
  • 4x2 with Payload Package: 17 city/21 highway/19 combined MPG
  • 4x4: 17 city/23 highway/19 combined MPG
  • 4x4 with Payload Package: 16 city/21 highway/18 combined MPG

3.0L Power Stroke® V6

For the highest gas mileage the 2019 F-150 has to offer, opt for the 3.0L Power Stroke® V6. Though it outputs 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque, it gives you a solid fuel economy for both 4x2 and 4x4 models, topping the charts in the Ford F-150 engine lineup.

With 4x2, you'll see an estimated fuel economy of a remarkable 22 city/30 highway/25 combined MPG, which is amazing for a full-size pickup. Need the extra oomph of the 4x4 system. The efficiency is still high at 20 city/25 highway/22 combined MPG. However, the Payload Package is not available for this model.

High Output 3.5L EcoBoost® V6

The most power that the F-150 can produce comes with the help of the H.O. 3.5L EcoBoost® V6. With this engine, it can rev up to a whopping 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque for a robust ride and optimal capability. But because of this power, this powertrain can only be handled with 4x4 technology. This results in a fuel economy estimate of 15 city/18 highway/16 combined MPG.
